In an ever increasingly competitive marketplace, the maintenance department is routinely asked to keep equipment running longer, with fewer failures and at lower costs.  The planning and control functions are critical components to make any maintenance program run with the new expectations.

 

This course provides the fundamentals of planning, scheduling and control required for any successful maintenance program. Effective Maintenance and Planning will provide students with real world applications, the principles behind the programs and specific techniques to implement your own plan.

 

In addition to defining the roles and responsibilities of the scheduler and planner, attendees will learn how to sell management teams on the importance of these roles and how to gain the cooperation and understanding of purchasing, operations and engineering.

·         Scheduling for Major shutdown and turnarounds

·         Shutdown work identification

·         Work packages preparation

·         Resources allocation and resource histogram

·         Critical Path method

·         Crashing schedules

·         Turnaround team organization chart

·         Maintenance Metrics

·         Turnaround closing report

 

Day 4

·         Reliability centered maintenance: goals, principles and Process

·         Maintenance statistics MTTR, MTBF, availability, maintainability

·         Continuous Improvement Techniques & Methods

·         Brief introduction to probability and set calculations

·         Reliability definition and modeling

·         System reliability and component reliability

·         Reliability block diagrams

·         Reliability logic tree

·         Failure Mode and Effect Analysis

 

Day 5

·         Inventory control in maintenance

·         Economic order quantity method

·         Quality and safety in maintenance

·         Manpower: internal vs. contractor

·         Maintenance team organization
